TURMERIC ( CURCUMIN )

Curcumin is a phytopolylphenol pigment isolated from the plant Curcuma longa, commonly known as turmeric, with a variety of pharmacologic properties.  Curcumin blocks the formation of reactive- oxygen  species, possesses anti-inflammatory properties as a result of inhibition of cyclooxygenases (COX) and other enzymes involved in inflammation; and disrupts cell signal transduction by various mechanisms including inhibition of protein kinase C.  These effects may play a role in the agent's observed antineoplastic properties, which include inhibition of tumor cell proliferation and suppression of chemically induced carcinogenesis and tumor growth in animal models of cancer. The next update for teachers’, this is an excellent simulation I have come across till now, here the subjects are not limited, you can browse any subjects Students with disabilities can miss out on opportunities for authentic science and mathematics experiences due to a lack of accessible STEM resources. Thanks to PhET SIMULATION this is a solvable problem. I have used one simulation during my class lecture and it was a super fun experience!!! Through inclusive design approaches, that are creating accessible, interactive simulations that allow students to experience science and mathematical practices in new ways. It includes: verbal descriptions and feedback, the use of sound and music to represent foundational science and mathematics relationships, and alternative navigation that moves beyond mouse or touch inputs. PhET are creating research-based, accessible STEM education resources to

SUGAR MOLECULES/CHEMICAL FORMULA

Sugar chemical Formula Sugar, also known as saccharose, sucrose or by the chemical name α-D-glucopyranosyl, is a carbohydrate extensively used in the food industry and homemade food preparation. Formula and structure:  The sucrose chemical formula is C 12 H 22 O 11  and the molar mass is 342.30 g mol -1 . The structure is a disaccharide formed by two subunits, one of glucose and one unit of fructose. The crystal structure is monoclinic. Its chemical structure can be written as below, in the common representations used for organic molecules. Physical properties:  Sucrose is white, odorless and sweet taste crystalline solid. It is highly soluble in water (2000 g /L) and other polar solvents. Its density is 1.587 g mL -1 . The sucrose doesn't have melting point, it decomposes up to 186 C. Chemical properties:  The sucrose is formed by two subunits of other very known sugars: fructose and glucose. One of them is a six member heterocycle (glucose ring) while the anoth

SOLAR ECLIPSE MYTH!

India set to witness an annular solar eclipse on Sunday, wherein the Sun will appear like a "ring of fire". The phenomenal celestial event takes place when the moon comes in between the earth and the sun, leaving the sun's visible outer edges to form a "ring of fire" or annulus around the moon. There are also many superstitions that revolve around this solar eclipse or Surya Grahan, right from restricting consumption of food at a particular time to actually banning people from watching the celestial event live. Some of which are associated with the food that we eat during the eclipse. However, scientists have busted the myths. Professor M N Vahia, Dean School of Mathematical Sciences, NMIMS said there is no religious text that claims that eclipses are dangerous. They are mere superstitions created by people who are scared of the eclipses. "On the contrary we can even see how eclipses have been beautifully discussed in ancient literature", he

CHEMIX.ORG

IT LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL😍 DAY 02/30 Challenge. #e-learning, distance learning & remote learning. So here’s a 2 nd  update for teachers who teaches science-chemistry!! I have been using this  https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions  for using chemistry lab diagrams this is sooooooo much fun as I can use different lab equipments! As for the current Situation its a quite difficult for a teachers to show lab experiences but thanks to  https://chemix.org/  who have helped us to show virtual lab for kids! I have created a sample for you to have a glance of equipments, teachers can create sample diagram files that they then share with their students, who can then reopen them and continue editing, as part of a class assignment. Do try and share your experience😇😊

NICOTINE

Nicotine is a chemical that contains nitrogen, which is made by several types of plants, including the tobacco plant. It is also produced synthetically. Nicotine is both a sedative and a stimulant. When a body is exposed to nicotine, the individual experiences a “kick.” This is partly caused by nicotine stimulating the adrenal glands, which results in the release of adrenaline. This surge of adrenaline stimulates the body. There is an immediate release of glucose, as well as an increase in heart rate, breathing activity, and  blood pressure . Nicotine causes a wide range of side effects in most organs and systems. # The circulation of the blood can be affected in the following ways: -an increased clotting tendency, leading to a risk of harmful blood clots atherosclerosis , in which plaque forms on the artery wall enlargement of the aorta # Side effects in the brain include: -dizziness and lightheadedness -irregular and disturbed sleep -bad dream
